What is SimplyE?

Created by a partnership of libraries across the country, led by The New York Public Library.

Gives you access to a nationwide ebook and digital audiobook library lending program.

SimplyE is the reading app that makes it easy to browse, borrow, and read e-books or digital audiobooks in our library’s collection on your mobile device.

With SimplyE you can use your library card to borrow thousands of ebooks and audiobooks to read or listen to on your phone or tablet.

E-Read Texas has launched a new website for kids which includes 6 curations:

Action and Adventure, All About Animals, Crafts for Kids, It’s A Mystery, Outer Space and Space Exploration, and Sports Stories.

Each curation is packed with many selections and will captivate and educate children of all ages.

Open Library   

A collection of over 200,000 free eBooks. Begin by clicking “sign up” in the top right hand corner. Make sure when searching that “Show only eBooks” is checked. 

Internet Archive       

Contains a wide range of fiction, popular books, children's books, historical texts and academic books. 

Project Gutenberg 

Offers over 42,000 free eBooks: choose among free ePub books, free Kindle books.

Lit2Go    

Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material for your classroom.

LibriVox      

LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain, and then release the audio files back onto the net for free.
