Your Library Director Welcomes You

Welcome Newcomers!

The Lake Whitney Public Library would like to send a special welcome to our newcomers and invite them to the library.

What’s free, fun, and could change you, your family, and your students’ lives?

Answer: Lake Whitney Public Library

Located at 602 E. Jefferson Ave.—downtown—your local library offers many services to entertain and enlighten your entire family, such as AP reading list for the school’s, summer reading program, children’s story time, IRS tax forms, public access computers and a wide range of reading materials. The library has new books, adult materials, large-print books, classic books, audio books, movies, videos, DVDs—all that, plus a pleasant, cost-free atmosphere. You’ll find children’s books and activities, along with fun crafts. The Children’s area is an excellent place to visit for books, suggested reading materials, Accelerated Reader lists, and more.

Whether you’re into car repair or thrillers, the Public Library is the place to be, the membership card is free, and all we require is proof of your current address, and a valid picture I.D.

We’re open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am - 5pm, Thursday 10am-6pm.  Closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Summer Reading for kids. Each Wednesday starting June there will be special events at 10:30.

The adult book club meets once a month on the 4th Tuesday at 1:30 PM.
